Swim Team Confrence Info
Encouragement statements will be available to place in the Confrence Meet Heat Sheets. A flyer will be circulating at this evening’s dual meet at Westchester providing information. For a fee of $5.00 family and friends can put a note of encouragement for their swimmer in the Confrence Meet Heat Sheet. Forms will be available @ the pool and need to be completed by Monday July 20th.

Friday July 17 Family Pitch-in
Bring a side dish to share. We will be grilling burgers and dogs. $5.00 suggested per family. 6:30 sharp. Remember that DEVON is like a big family. If you show up at 7:00, you probably won’t get any homemade potato salad and you can forget about the brownies.
Monday July 20th after swim practice – 12 and under party.
$2.00 per kid for craft and pizza.
Friday July 31 – 16 years and under teen party. Devon Smith will be the DJ so bring your school friends and be ready to party. Guards and friends are all welcome. $5.00 cover for the DJ, bottled water and chips. Party starts at 8:00 pm. and ends at 11:00.
WE WILL NEED CHAPERONES FOR THIS PARTY SO PLEASE SIGN UP ON THE MAIN BULLETIN BOARD. WE NEED 10+ PARENTS.

Confrence Swim Meet Update
A reminder the Confrence Championship Meet will be held Saturday July 25th at Lawrence North’s new facility. As the host team we will require a signifigant volunteer effort to run this daylong meet smoothly and profitably. The Confrence Meet Committee will be meeting with Lawrence North officials for a tour of the facility to help plan for the event.
In addition to swim team parents volunteering for specific duties during the meet other possibilities exist to help the hosting of the meet. If you are in a position to donate or discount printing of the heat sheets to be sold to spectators, or if you are in a position to obtain donated or discounted food supplies for concessions and hospitality please contact Scott Christy. Finally, we are expecting to make money hosting this year’s Confrence Meet, by lowering our upfront expenses through donations, discounts, or advertizing (your company in our heat sheets), to add to the Swim Team Fund for future needs. Volunteer sign-up information will be coming soon.

Guest Fees to Increase
The fees for guests were to increase the weekend of June 26th. The week day (Mon-Thurs) fee will remain the same for guests at $5 each. The new weekend rate (Fri-Sun) will be $10 per guest. Because of technical errors on my part, we will increase fees for guests next weekend (July 10th). If you paid the increased fee last weekend, please contact me.
As opposed to assessing members or inacting a no-guest policy, the board voted to increase fees for guests. At $10 per guest. we still feel it is a bargain to enjoy all the facilities that Devon provides. Every member has had the opportunity through the month of June to bring families and guest for free during our “Open Houses”. I want to thank everyone who brought a family and have now become members. We will continue to work with everyone to keep our membership growing.
Although this board decision may not be popular with everyone , please be aware that it was a board decision, and the staff have been instructed to follow this policy change.

Share all those great shots you’ve taken! Click “photos” on the side bar. Click “My Photos” on the right hand side to add your pictures. For me, it worked best to put the photos I wanted to upload in a folder on my desk top. Choose file and pick from the pull down. Choose 2009 category. Upload. Don’t try to upload more than one at a time. There are categories for older photos too so post your best “vintage” shots!
